Rushing down Atlantic Road
Today I was an undercover nanny and I was rushing to get my kid to basketball when I was caught up by this incredible image..... Knight Webb Gallery in Brixton have this incredible ultraviolet display. They had an open day where anybody could come and doodle away with ultra violet umm...tools? Anyway and it just looks fantastic... Inspiring really!
That's my kid's shadows lol.
I love Brixton.
Check out the gallery!
Wednesday is recipe day: Red Velvet
Instead of sharing my secrets I'll share a solid Hummingbird recipe.. Can't go wrong, just don't get natural red dye.... One day I had to abandon my friends birthday BROWN velvet cake and bring an M&S cake instead. It was shameful. Though the M&S chocolate cake with the stars is reeealllly good.
Makes: 12
Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Cooking Time: 25 minutes
You will need
60g unsalted butter at room temperature
150g caster sugar
1 egg
20g cocoa powder
40ml red food colouring
½ tsp vanilla extract
120ml buttermilk
150g plain flour
½ tsp bicarbonate of soda
1½ tsp white vinegar
1 x 12-hole cupcake tray, lined with paper cases
For the frosting:
300g icing sugar, sifted
50g unsalted butter, at room temperature
125g cream cheese, cold
Method
1. Preheat the oven to 170°C/325°F/gas mark 3.
2. Put the butter and the sugar in a freestanding electric mixer with a paddle attachment (or use a handheld electric whisk) and beat on medium speed until light and fluffy and well mixed. Turn the mixer up to high speed, slowly add the egg and beat until everything is well incorporated.
3. In a separate bowl, mix together the cocoa powder, red food colouring and vanilla extract to make a very thick, dark paste. Add to the butter mixture and mix thoroughly until evenly combined and coloured (scrape any unmixed ingredients from the side of the bowl with a rubber spatula). Turn the mixer down to slow speed and slowly pour in half the buttermilk.
4. Beat until well mixed, then add half the flour and beat until everything is well incorporated. Repeat this process until all the buttermilk and flour have been added. Scrape down the side of the bowl again. Turn the mixer up to high speed and beat until you have a smooth, even mixture. Turn the mixer down to low speed and add the bicarbonate of soda and vinegar. Beat until well mixed, then turn up the speed again and beat for a couple more minutes.
5. Meanwhile, make the frosting by beating the icing sugar the remaining 20g of the unsalted butter together in a freestanding electric mixer with a paddle attachment (or use a handheld electric whisk) on medium-slow speed until the mixture comes together and is well mixed. Add the cream cheese in one go and beat it until it is completely incorporated. Turn the mixer up to medium-high speed. Continue beating until the frosting is light and fluffy, at least five minutes. Do not overbeat, as it can quickly become runny.
6. Spoon the mixture into the paper cases until two-thirds full and bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the sponge bounces back when touched. A skewer inserted in the centre should come out clean. Leave the cupcakes to cool slightly in the tray before turning out onto a wire cooling rack to cool completely. When the cupcakes are cold, spoon the cream cheese frosting on top.
Tips: To make a red velvet cake instead, double the quantities below, divide between three 20-cm cake tins and bake for 25 minutes at the same oven temperature.

Brawling bad boys? Chris and Frank.
Some of us love a guy that can and will hold his own. But ummmmm perhaps not a guy that pops off like pop corn in a little heat. Chris and Frank brawling.... At work you know... Does it make it alright because they're in the 'studio' and not a office or a shop?
No.
Bring back the hunter gatherer man. Not the ego egg face man....
Mmmmmmmm yes. Breakfast is important.
This is what I had. Special K and lemon and ginger tea!
I think people should remind other people all the time!
The slimmest people (this is a real statistic) have breakfast in the morning...
Breakfast helps you to think clearly.
It helps you to avoid those UNHELPFUL snacks.
Coffee shop breakfasts more often than not are unhealthy.
If you get the porridge at Starbucks... MAKE SURE YOU GET SUGAR. I made that mistake once.

Imagine if we all lived like this....
While doing my daily devotion (start day as you mean to go on!!) I thought I'd share what I'd read. Not to bible bash... At all. My thoughts here are about standards.... guidelines.... And not being to proud to have any of those and be absolute at times. Also about returning to some disciplines that are good for you.
My life really comes together when I put these into practice....
“I am the Lord your God, who rescued you from the land of Egypt, the place of your slavery.
“You must not have any other god but me. “
You must not make for yourself an idol of any kind or an image of anything in the heavens or on the earth or in the sea. You must not bow down to them or worship them, for I, the L ord your God, am a jealous God who will not tolerate your affection for any other gods. I lay the sins of the parents upon their children; the entire family is affected—even children in the third and fourth generations of those who reject me. But I lavish unfailing love for a thousand generations on those who love me and obey my commands.
“You must not misuse the name of the L ord your God. The Lord will not let you go unpunished if you misuse his name. “Remember to observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. You have six days each week for your ordinary work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath day of rest dedicated to the L ord your God. On that day no one in your household may do any work. This includes you, your sons and daughters, your male and female servants, your livestock, and any foreigners living among you. For in six days the L ord made the heavens, the earth, the sea, and everything in them; but on the seventh day he rested. That is why the L ord blessed the Sabbath day and set it apart as holy.
“Honor your father and mother. Then you will live a long, full life in the land the Lord your God is giving you.
“You must not murder.
“You must not commit adultery.
“You must not steal.
“You must not testify falsely against your neighbor.
“You must not covet your neighbor’s house. You must not covet your neighbor’s wife, male or female servant, ox or donkey, or anything else that belongs to your neighbor.” (Exodus 20:2-17 NLT)

Nuclear by Destiny's Child!
Hmmmmm... What do you guys think? My little cousin is right this song belongs on a run way but I actually really like the track. OKAY, they didn't 'pop it off' and I'd have preferred a come back song with more energy BUT I'd have loved the track if it wasn't a come back track.... Make sense? Reading the comments on the Destiny's Child VEVO is a little bit painful... Everything from, "I'll love whatever they do" to " Destiny's Child -________-" and even "HORRIBLE!"
It's only have just over 2000 views on the actual VEVO.... I don't thinki have the energy to be watching everyone's video reviews today.....
TELL US WHAT YOU THINK!!!
